Christianity was first introduced to Mizoram in 1894 by British Baptist missionaries, Rev. Arthur Elington and Rev. B.L. Cady. They arrived in the then-Aizawl district, which was a small village surrounded by dense forests. The missionaries' initial efforts were met with resistance, but they persisted, and eventually, the Mizo people began to accept Christianity.
