I’ve spent the last year wrestling with this question. Here’s what I’ve learned about where body positivity and wellness culture align—and where they dangerously collide.

For decades, the mainstream wellness industry sold a narrow, rigid ideal: health had a specific look, a definitive dress size, and a mandatory number on the scale. This toxic alignment of well-being with weight created a culture of restriction, shame, and burnout.
