Windows 10 will automatically search for and install the generic USB Webcam driver .

If your webcam was designed for Windows 7 or earlier, it might not be natively compatible with Windows 10. Compatibility Mode : If you have an old driver installer, right-click the file, go to Properties Compatibility

Tests performed on clean VM and physical Dell OptiPlex 7080:

If you cannot find your exact model name, you can use your webcam’s unique to find a compatible driver package. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager . Expand the Cameras or Imaging Devices section.

Because many Astrum drivers were originally authored for Windows 7 or Windows 8, Windows 10 might reject the installer out of the box. Right-click the Setup.exe file inside the extracted folder. Select . Click the Compatibility tab.

: You can identify your webcam's Hardware ID through Device Manager and search for matching drivers. This method is more technical but can help locate the correct driver for obscure or older devices

Connect the webcam directly to a motherboard USB port on the back of the PC case, bypassing external hubs to ensure adequate power delivery.

Paste this exact ID into a search engine alongside "official driver" to find out exactly which generic chipset your Astrum webcam uses (such as Realtek, Sonix, or Vimicro). You can then download the safe, clean driver directly from that chipset manufacturer. Step 4: Check Windows 10 Privacy Settings

Click the button and select the unzipped folder containing your repacked files. Ensure the checkbox for Include subfolders is active.

A repackaged Astrum webcam driver can enable webcam functionality on Windows 10 but carries risks: compatibility problems, unsigned drivers, potential bundled software, and legal concerns. Thorough testing in a controlled environment and preferring official drivers are strongly recommended.

Visit the Astrum Download Center to search by your specific model number (e.g., WM720P). Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager . Expand Cameras or Imaging devices . Right-click your Astrum webcam and select Update driver . Choose Search automatically for drivers . ⚠️ Troubleshooting Non-Working Drivers
